About the role
This post is at Annabelle Pre-School and Primary, Moshoeshoe II, Maseru. Annabelle Preschool and Daycare invites applications from four motivated, caring and enthusiastic people for the position of Pre-School Assistant Teacher. This opportunity is for aspiring early childhood educators who want practical experience and the skills for a future career in pre-school education. Previous teaching experience is not required. Successful candidates work under the guidance of experienced teachers on a two-year fixed-term contract. Minimum requirements: • An early childhood education qualification or a diploma in education • No previous teaching experience is required • A genuine interest in working with young children • Patience, kindness and a willingness to learn • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work as part of a team • A commitment to children’s safety, hygiene, wellbeing and development • Willingness to receive training and guidance from experienced teachers
What you will do
- Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson preparation
- Support children’s learning, play and social development
- Help keep the classroom clean, safe and organised
- Assist with children’s personal care and hygiene, as appropriate
- Supervise learners during playtime, meals and other school activities
- Follow the school’s policies, instructions and child safeguarding procedures
